Carly Simon is no stranger to the Great American Songbook. As one of the very first pop-rock stars to turn to pre-rock standards for artistic renewal -- her groundbreaking Torch was released in 1981 -- Simon is by now an old pro when it comes to the imperishable work of such songwriting giants as Porter, the Gershwins, and Rodgers and Hart.
